We are saddened therefore to hear the recent news that as part of the Spending Review settlement, the government has decided to wind down the national delivery of the Business Growth Service. The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) issued a formal instruction to providers of the Business Growth Service on 26th November 2015:
– Not to enter into any further contractual commitments with customers after 23:59 Monday 30 November;
– That all contractual commitments should be honoured, as long as all support and related activity is completed by 31 March 2016.
Given the great feedback the service has had this news comes as a great shock to us! 97% of participants engaged recommended the service, 90% of businesses engaged in Growth Through Innovation said it helped bring new products and services to market and 94% of businesses said they’re more likely to grow as a result of GrowthAccelerator. Our thoughts are with our clients and colleagues who are personally and professionally affected by this sudden and unexpected decision, especially so close to Christmas!
