We’ve Finished Our 1,000,000 Step Challenge.

A bit of background.

In February, as a team, we decided that we wanted to commit to getting out and about more as working from home really had our step count a little lower than we would care to admit… Let’s just say our commutes from our beds to our desks weren’t having us hitting the sought-after 10,000 steps a day!

But we also wanted to do some good at the same time, so that’s why we put together a plan to walk and raise money at the same time and voila, that’s when our charity walking challenge was born.

As a team, we set ourselves the challenge of walking 1,000,000 steps between us to raise money for Leicester Hospitals Charity, an organisation that has done so much good for the people of Leicester during this difficult year!

Since Leicester has had more than its fair share of lockdowns, this charity has really had its work cut out for them which made raising money for them an easy choice.

So on the 1st of March, we dusted off our walking shoes and set to work!

A month of walking.

Anyone who has been working from home during this pandemic will probably tell you that a walk is the best way to start and end your day.

Our team had such a great time walking, running, and even skipping their way around Leicester, getting those steps in, and taking photos for Instagram at the same time.

We got some really lovely photos which you will have seen all over our social media and we enjoyed catching up each morning over the number of steps we did, even if some were more competitive than others…

After a month of daily (or sometimes even twice daily) walks we’re so happy to have walked 1,349,116 steps and raised £1800 for Leicester City Hospitals Charity. This is a wonderful achievement and we’re so proud of each and every person who took part, rain, wind, or shine!

All this walking has done wonders for our health, creativity, and wellness so we’re excited to come up with another challenge to raise money for another worthy cause!

If you want to learn a bit more about why we took on this challenge, check out our latest blog post.
